Fars Unveils Digital Tourism Platform

Tourism Online: Fars, the southern Iranian province, unveiled its new tourism platform on August 26 at a ceremony held at the Shiraz Hotel, attended by provincial officials and members of the press. The launch marked a strategic step toward developing an integrated digital database for destination information, travel reviews, and mapped tourism routes.

Behzad Moridi, director general of Fars Province’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization, said the platform helps tourists discover diverse and sometimes lesser-known destinations and routes across six areas of tourism: historical, natural, cultural, religious, health, and sports tourism, Tourism Online reported.

“These six areas have been expanded, and within each one, multiple tourism routes have been introduced to the public,” Moridi said.

He explained that the cultural tourism section covers literary, artistic, events, culinary, and clothing-related tourism, reflecting an anthropological and ethnographic approach. The platform introduces numerous routes in Shiraz and other cities across Fars and provides visitors with guidance on how to explore them.

Moridi added that the platform makes information about routes and corridors, nearby accommodation facilities and camps, audio guides, and narratives related to the routes more accessible to tourists.

The launch of the Fars Tourism Platform is seen as a significant step toward the digitalization of tourism in the province. It is expected to enhance Fars’s competitiveness as a tourism destination, strengthen its international connectivity, and contribute to sustainable tourism development.

Fars is the land of culture, poetry, and orange blossoms. As the fourth largest province of Iran, Fars province has ancient cities, historical monuments, natural attractions, pilgrimage sites, and beautiful Persian gardens that cater to different tastes.

The platform is available to the public free of charge and can be downloaded through the Bazaar and Myket applications.
